Girl On-the-Go: Simple Hairstyles in a Flash
By Arianna Rose • Sarah Olivia Marketing LLC • December 4th, 2018
It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood, but…it’s raining, you haven’t even had time to THINK about coffee, and you’ve hit the snooze button five too many times.
Just your luck – today’s ALSO the day you’ll run into absolutely everyone you’ve ever met in your entire life…more than likely while wearing yoga pants.
Simply put – you’re late and stressed for time, but still need to pull a polished hairstyle together.
Have no fear – your late and/or lazy-girl hair hacks are here!
Modern Messy Bun
Buns mean business, but a modernized “messy” bun offers a relaxed, easygoing take on this classic style.
Gather your hair in a high ponytail and loosely twist into a donut shape.
Ever-so-slightly tousle the bun for a slightly-undone vibe, and consider adding a headband or other hair accessory for a fun and unexpected touch.
Tried, tested, and true — this classic style never fails.
The trick to pulling off a voluminous ponytail is to really pull back the base of the hair (think of a sleek ballerina bun or top not – all of the hair is tightly pulled back), and use a teasing comb to “roughen up” the gathered hair in the ponytail.
Focus on teasing towards the ponytail holder to ensure the volume sits in the most flattering position.
Trust us, babe — this style is much easier than it looks, and takes less than 5 minutes to pull together (win-win!).
Start by gathering your hair into a sleek low ponytail, and form a large braid (for more texture, split the ponytail into two braids).
Wrap the braid into a bun, and bobby pin to the base of the neck.
This fresh, fun take on a typical half-updo puts a youthful spin on an age-old style.
Start by parting the top portion of your hair into a standard half up, and before pulling it back, begin twisting the sections.
Take the two rolled sections of hair, and gather them together behind your head. Consider adding a fun hair accessory or statement piece.
This simple, polished style is idea for those with straight tresses, or beauties who want to draw attention to the face.
Quickly run a curling iron through your hair, holding one-inch sections for 5-10 seconds to create soft, beachy waves.
Part your hair as usual, and then gather the front two sections of your hair. Pull these sections down flat and pin them behind your ears.
Secure with hairspray, and voila! You look stunning, lovely!
The days of pulling out the ol’ dreaded oversized hair clip and sitting hair on top of your head like a lifeless beast (or even worse – a bland, founding-father-eqsue ponytail), are far, FAR behind you, #Ave42Babe.
These five simple ‘dos will have you looking and feeling great in a flash!
